# Atlassian Jira Cloud

There are two kinds of Atlassian Jira integrations that work through Atlassian apps:

| Flavor               | Capability | When to use                                                                                                                   |
| -------------------- | ---------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **App integration**  | `JIRA_APP` | Experts post as Augment. Supports triggering workflows and subscriptions. Requires the Forge app.                             |
| **User integration** | `JIRA`     | Experts post as the user. The user must complete a one-time OAuth flow that grants Augment privileges on their Atlassian app. |

With the app integration, you can:

* create automations triggered by Jira events
* have sessions and experts listen for Jira events
* have sessions and experts do operations against Jira. These will appear to come from the `Augment` app.

To do the app integration, you must be a Cosmos administrator. You will need to work with a Jira Cloud administrator.
Go to **Settings > Integrations** and click **Connect** in the **Atlassian** tile. Follow the instructions that appear.

To do the user integration, go to **Settings > Linked Accounts** and click on **Connect** in the **Jira** tile.

### Using the integrations

The easiest way to use the integrations is to ask Cosmos to create or modify an existing expert or workflow.

When launching a new session, select **Jira App** for the app integration and **Jira** for the user integration.
