About Suggested Edits

Suggested Edits keeps you moving through your codebase by suggesting changes to your code based on your recent changes and other context. You can jump to the next edit–in the same file or across your codebase–and quickly accept or reject the suggested change with a single keystroke.

Using Suggested Edits

When Suggested Edits has a suggestion, you will see helper text at the end of the currently selected line. The suggestion will indicate where in the current file or in another file that you will find the change. To jump to the next suggestion, press and after reviewing the change, press again to accept or to reject.

Suggested Edit Indicators And Controls

There are several indicators for suggested edits:

  1. Top Right - you will see a pencil icon that becomes colored when a suggested edit is available. Next to it there are left and right arrows to navigate through the suggestions.
  2. On the line of the cursor - you will see a shadow text describing the suggested edit.
  3. On the line of the suggested edit - you will see a lightbulb icon. The lightbulb is green for added lines, red for removed lines, and blue for modified lines.
