Template Experts

Template Experts are out-of-the-box Experts shipped by the Augment team. They have been battle-tested across engineering organizations that use standardized third-party integrations and are designed to produce high-quality sessions for common software development workflows. If a Template Expert fits your use case, we recommend using it instead of building a custom Expert from scratch. Template Experts are automatically managed and maintained by Augment, including model updates, prompt improvements, workflow tuning, and other quality improvements over time. For a Template Expert, the system prompt is a single include statement that references a prompt managed by Augment. Your customizations, such as which specific repositories to run on and other workflow-specific details, are appended below that include. This is what lets Augment keep improving the underlying prompt over time while your configuration stays intact.
You don’t have to deploy these by hand — ask Cosmos Advisor to set them up for you. Describe your workflow and the Advisor deploys the right Template Experts in the correct dependency order, wires up their integrations and Environment, and hands you a link to try each one.
  • Cosmos Advisor — your go-to agent for navigating Cosmos: it connects integrations, builds Environments, creates and tunes Experts, and wires Automations for you through prompting instead of hand-editing forms.
  • PR Author — the canonical Ticket-to-PR Expert for taking a request to ready-for-review pull request or merge request.
  • Risk Analyzer — auto-approves low-risk changes and routes higher-risk reviews to the right level of attention.
  • Deep Reviewer — performs non-interactive, line-by-line correctness review.
  • Pair Reviewer — interactive review focusing on items in the change requiring human judgment and knowledge transfer: design and architecture, security, risks, and similar.
  • Verifier — exercises a change against a running environment and reports evidence-backed findings.
  • Incident Investigator — investigates alerts or incident threads and summarizes findings.
  • Feedback Triager — converts incoming feedback into one researched downstream ticket per thread.
  • Project Builder — turns a large feature into a design, ticket breakdown, and coordinated implementation.
  • Ticket Dispatcher — scans ready work and dispatches implementation workers under backpressure.
  • Data Analyst — answers questions about your data with read-only queries against your source-of-truth datasets, naming the source and window for every answer.
  • Cosmos Analyst — reports how Cosmos has impacted your engineering team using GitHub PR / GitLab MR activity and cost data.
