About Authentication

You can sign in to Augment using one of the supported identity providers–Google or Microsoft–or sign in using your email address and a single-use code we send to you. During the process, you will be redirected to your browser to sign in to your account.

Sign in to Augment

Click the Sign in to Augment button in the Augment panel. If you do not see the Augment panel press Cmd/Ctrl L. If you are using Visual Studio Code, you be asked to confirm going to Augment’s authentication portal.

Sign in with your email

In your browser, you may sign in with Google, Microsoft, or by receiving a single-use code in your email.

Accept the terms and conditions

If this is the first time you’ve signed in to Augment, you will be asked to accept the terms and conditions.

Return to your IDE

You will be automically redirected back to your IDE and you will see the Augment icon change to in the status bar.

Sync your workspace

If this is your first time using Augment, or you are working on a new workspace, you will see the Sync modal in the Augment panel. Click the Sync button in the Augment panel to enable Augment’s rich codebase awareness. See Syncing your workspace to customize syncing behavior and learn more.

Sign out

Open the Augment panel

Click the Augment icon in the status bar or press Cmd/Ctrl L to open the Augment panel.

Show the Augment command menu

Click the overflow menu icon

in the top right of the Augment panel or press Cmd/Ctrl Shift A to show the Augment command menu.

Click Sign Out

Click Sign Out from the bottom of the commands menu.

You are now signed out of Augment

You will see the icon changed to

and you will be signed out of Augment in all of your active workspaces.
